Application Information
Applicants must be in an accredited, degree-granting institution or other science-focused non-profit in the United States or Canada. Proposals involving partnerships between institutions or organizations are encouraged, but those not involving partnerships are also invited.
BWF's Grant Application System
Burroughs Wellcome Fund (BWF) requires all applications for this program to be submitted electronically through BWF's web-based grant application system. Completed applications must be submitted by the application deadline date. No exceptions.
Applicants are encouraged to start early and review the program background, eligibility, selection process, and FAQs prior to beginning the application. Certain proposal information will be requested online when you access the BWF Grant Application System, but the majority of the application consists of various materials prepared by the applicant and uploaded to the system.
Access the BWF Grant Application System through the links provided above and create a log-in and password. The application may be accessed and changed multiple times as needed prior to submission. However, once the application has been submitted, it cannot be changed. No exceptions.
When all required fields have been entered and required attachments uploaded, a "Submit" button will be made available. Once the application is complete, click the "Review and Submit" button.
Once the application is successfully submitted, you should receive a confirmation email. If you do not receive email notification, please contact Jean Kramarik, via email or phone 919-991-5122.
Applications will not be accepted and submitted applications cannot be changed once the deadline has passed. No exceptions will be made.
