Application Checklist

Before applying, check with the institution regarding their candidate nomination process.

The entire application must be submitted electronically through BWF’s grant application system by 4:00 p.m., EST,  November 1, 2012. The following checklist is provided to assist in compiling and completing all necessary application materials. 

1.  Did you complete the data entry application online?

  • Principal Investigator
  • Applicant Demographics
  • Nominating Institution Information
  • Proposal Information (*Did you remember to include your name in the "Project Title" field in the format of "Last Name, First Name - Project Title"?)
  • Lay Abstract
2.  Did you remember to complete or obtain the following attachments and upload them as one (1) PDF file in the following order?

  • Letter of Nomination
  • Candidate's Biosketch (CV) (template provided)
  • Scientific Abstract (one page limit; template provided)
  • Research Plan (five-page limit)
  • Bibliography
  • Budget and Budget Justification (template provided)
  • Facilities and Resources (template provided)
  • Reprints (one is required and up to two additional reprints are optional)
  • Citizenship/Permanent Residency Form  and Documentation (template provided)
  • Two-Page Signature Form (template provided; E-Signature accepted)

3.  Did you request three confidential/blind Letters of Recommendation?  Have these letters been uploaded by the recommenders?
