This grant provides support up to $3,000 for one-year to cover the cost of equipment, materials, and supplies to implement hands-on, minds-on science and mathematics curriculum in the classroom. An additional $1,500 may be requested for professional development related to the implementation of new equipment or use of materials in the classroom.

Burroughs Wellcome Fund (BWF) requires all applications for this program to be submitted electronically through BWF's web-based Grant Application System.  The applications must be submitted by 4:00 p.m. Eastern Time on the application deadline dates.  No exceptions.

Applicants are encouraged to start early and review the background, eligibility, selection, and  FAQs prior to beginning the application.  Certain proposal information will be requested on-line when you access the BWF grant application system, but the majority of the application consists of various materials prepared by the applicant and uploaded to the system. Proposal Sections outline the requirements and expections of the proposal.

Access to the BWF grant application system through the links provided on this page.  Create a log-in and password to gain access to the application.  The application may be accessed and changed multiple times as needed prior to the application deadline.  However, once the deadline has passed, the application cannot be changed.

If all required fields have been entered and required attachments uploaded, a submit button will be made available to you. Click the "review and submit" button to submit your application.

You should receive an automatic email indicating the proposal has been submitted.
