Career Awards in the Biomedical Sciences
Research in the basic biomedical sciences provides a firm foundation for
improving human health. The Burroughs Wellcome Fund is committed
to fostering the development of the next generation of academic
biomedical scientists. By providing funding to help bridge the gap
between the postdoctoral and early faculty years, the Fund hopes
to bolster the careers of the most promising up and coming scientists.
But BWF's support doesn't stop with its funding. Through biennial
meetings and mentoring networks, the Fund helps provide vital career
advice to give scientists, early in their careers, the information
they need to be successful.
