iWalk the Eno II and Outdoor Science Labs
Program Description
The iWalk the Eno Science and Nature Camp provides a bridge of learning between the elementary and middle school science experiences. A common focus on the Eno River and our watershed links students' work to their own school campuses. They will focus on critical water quality issues at the regional and global levels. The program expands and strengthens collaboration between public schools, soil and water conservation programs, and a local non-profit environmental organization. Students are partnered with scientists, engineers and science educators in real-world investigations and their work results in permanent storm water control features that enhance water quality and introduce new resources for sustained outdoor investigations on school campuses. Visiting science and engineering professionals offer their perspectives and expertise, and model an array of science-related career paths for students. In addition to nurturing future scientists, iWalk the Eno II and the after school Outdoor Science Labs advance our goals to implement a focused, watershed-based education program.
